Dog on the Verge of Starving

Last week our organization received a phone call about a mistreated dog. Unfortunately, we get such calls quite often, and we are not always able to help. These things are especially common in the rural areas around our city.

On the last weekend of April we had a great shelter-helper event: most of our old volunteers and many new volunteers set out to visit the shelter and clean up the little forrest we have there.

Dogs Trust International Training Programme

Tappancs Animal Welfare Organisation had the opportunity to participate in the March 2010 International Training Course organised by the UK's largest charity in rehoming dogs. We enjoyed 4 days of training packed with extremely useful presentations and workshops on many topics, such as dog handling, veterinary matters, how to build a shelter, education in primary schools, trap-neuter and release programs for cats and dogs, fundraising and of course rehoming dogs (and cats - with a representative from Cat's Protection).

About us

Tappancs Animal Welfare Organisation was founded in 2002 to provide temporary home and shelter for stray animals in and around Szeged, Hungary. Due to the hard work of our volunteers and donations from private persons, we managed to open our animal shelter in the next year, 2003.
