Dog on the Verge of Starving

Last week our organization received a phone call about a mistreated dog. Unfortunately, we get such calls quite often, and we are not always able to help. These things are especially common in the rural areas around our city.

The person who called said it was very urgent, because the dog is on the verge of starving.

When we went to see the place where the dog lived we were shocked. The dog was kept on a piece of chain that was tied around her neck and secured with a lock. She did not have any water or food in front of her and she was very weak, almost didn’t manage to stand up. A strange thing was that there was a bag of dog food near her, but outside her reach.

If we didn’t get the dog, she might have had some water because of the rain we had last week, but she would probably have starved to death.

Now she is at our shelter, but she will need several weeks to recover.

We do not want to say anything about the dog’s owner yet, because we are trying to get the necessary legal proceedings done at the moment. We will try and keep you updated on this case..
